Confident Career Transitions (CCT-1): Priorities and Preparation for the Consultant Interview

This half-day virtual workshop is aimed at senior medical registrars and dentists who are 18 months or less from becoming a consultant and considering future career options.

As part of the session, you will observe a live demo consultant interview and practise interview questions with peers in breakout rooms. We will take you through a step-by-step career planning approach in the lead up to consultant applications and interviews, including:

Knowing yourself - Identifying core values, work preferences, areas for development, making the most of uncertainty

Knowing the trust, being the right fit - Developing professional relationships, reflecting on leadership behaviours and aligning your skills and experience effectively

Communicating key messages - How to prepare for a successful interview - understanding the different types of interview questions and useful mnemonics for structuring your responses

Identifying an action plan - To maximise your chance of success
