Workshop Outline:
An introductory workshop for dyslexic residents/trainees who have recently found out they are dyslexic or are in the process of making sense of their dyslexia.
The half day session will cover the following areas:
- What is dyslexia and how might it manifest as an adult learner
- Common experiences of dyslexic adults in postgraduate training
- Dilemmas around disclosure
- The principles of what and who can help in training or work
Eligibility:
- Dyslexic medical residents and dentistry trainees in London
- Other groups eligible for accessing PSU support in London (please see website for details)
Requirements:
This workshop will be interactive and require your participation. There will be a mix of small and large group work alongside short presentations. Please only sign up for a place if you:
- can join on time and stay for the full duration of the session
- can keep your camera on for group discussions and have stable IT connectivity
- can join from a private/confidential space to talk freely and not be overheard
- agree to inform the PSU in good time if you can no longer attend so that your place can be offered to someone else on the waiting list
